Schnirchgasse 8, 1030 Vienna

The Object

This apartment building is a typical corner house from Vienna’s „Gründerzeit“ era that was erected at the turn of the 20th century and continuously rehabilitated from 2010 to 2011. The object is located on a 401 m² lot and its built-up area measures 338 m².

Its street-side façade is structured featuring window pilasters, stucco ornaments and horizontal stucco grooves.

Rehabilitation

The conversion and rehabilitation of the building at Schnirchgasse 8 saw the creation of a total of 24 new flats through joining and re-orientation. 3 more, spacious maisonette-terrace flats were built on the attic floor. Furthermore, all of the building’s common areas were rehabilitated and a new lift was installed. The street-side façade is a reconstruction that remains true to the original design.

This stylish old building is located in Vienna’s 3rd district close to Erdbergstraße. Furthermore, Prater, the Danube Canal and the shopping street of Landstraßer Hauptstraße are just a few minutes’ walk away from Schnirchgasse. Connections to the Schlachthausgasse stop of underground line U3 and stops of the tramway lines 18, 77A, 80A and 84A provide optimal infrastructure.

Landstraße district is located between the Danube canal to the south-east of Vienna’s inner city. Wien Mitte railway station ranks among the most important public transportation hubs in Vienna and provides fast and direct connections to Vienna International Airport.

Belvedere Palace and Vienna University’s botanical gardens nearby are some of the most popular attractions in this, the 3rd district. Hundertwasser House, one of the most extraordinary residential complexes in Vienna, is also situated in this district.
